First-time setup
What it is: When you sign in for the first time with no animals on your account, HorseHub+ walks you through a short setup before showing the main app.
- Get started — Tap Get Started or skip with I'll do this later to go straight to Home.
- Add your first horse — Enter a name and species (horse, donkey, or pony) plus any optional details. Saved to your account.
- Contact details — Add your name and mobile so your vet or farrier can reach you. Optional — tap Do this later to skip.
- You're all set — Your subscription is confirmed. Tap Enter HorseHub+ to open the app.
Accounts that already have animals skip this wizard and go straight to the dashboard.
Animals
What it does: Manage profiles for all your horses, donkeys and ponies in one place.
- Create profiles with photo, name, species, breed, date of birth, microchip number and notes
- View upcoming birthdays on the home screen
- Link each animal to contacts and insurance policies
- Ask AI questions from an animal's profile for tailored advice
- Tap an animal on the home screen to open their personal dashboard
Tap the Animals card to see all your animals. Tap + Add animal to create a new profile, or tap an existing animal to view and edit their details.
Contacts
What it does: Store and quickly call or email all your equine professionals — vets, farriers, physios, dentists, instructors, saddlers and more.
- Categorise contacts by role: vet, farrier, physio, dentist, instructor, saddler, nutritionist, or other
- Store phone, email, website and notes for each contact
- One-tap call and email buttons appear on the home screen once a contact is saved
- Link contacts to specific animals
Tap the Contacts card to add or edit professionals. Once saved, quick-action call and email buttons appear on the home screen — ideal in an emergency.
Reminders & Calendar
What it does: Schedule and track all your recurring equine care tasks with a visual calendar and push notifications.
- Create reminders for farrier visits, worming, egg counts (FEC), vaccinations, dental, physio, saddle fits, clipping and more
- Repeating reminders — daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, and custom intervals
- Apply a single reminder to multiple animals at once
- Month/week/day calendar view — tap a date to prefill a new reminder
- Today's care items and this week's overview shown on the home screen
- Push notifications before tasks are due
Tap the Calendar card and then + Add reminder. Choose the animal, care type, date and repeat pattern. The home screen always shows what's due today and this week.
Vaccination & Treatment
What it does: Keeps a permanent medical record for each animal — vaccinations, worming treatments and dental work — separate from the day-to-day Calendar reminders.
- Log vaccinations (flu, tetanus, EHV, rabies), worming and dental treatments with dates, products and notes
- Track equine flu vaccination intervals for competition compliance
- View the full history per animal — useful at the vet or when travelling to a show
Tap Vaccination & Treatment, choose an animal, and add a new entry. Use the Calendar card for upcoming reminders; use this card to log what was actually done and build the history.
Medications
What it does: Track ongoing prescriptions with dose, frequency and quantity so you always know when a supply is running low.
- Log prescriptions (e.g. Bute, Prascend, Danilon) with dose and frequency
- Enter current quantity and reorder amount — HorseHub+ calculates when it will run out
- Everyone in your family group is notified 14 days before a supply runs out
- Sort by soonest to run out, newest, animal, or name
Tap Medications and then + Add Medication. Enter the drug name, dose, frequency and current stock. The app works out the run-out date and will remind your whole family before it happens.
Passport & Travel
What it does: Store travel and passport paperwork with the key health treatment dates required before a trip, so you are ready when you need it.
- Record travel dates, destination and accompanying health requirements
- Log equine flu, tetanus and other pre-travel treatment dates
- Store passport reference details alongside travel records
- Expiry-style reminders so health certificates do not lapse before a competition or trip
Tap Passport & Travel, select your animal, and add or update the travel record and treatment dates. Check it before competitions or international trips to confirm everything is in order.
Identification
What it does: Store all official identification documents for each animal — you can hold multiple ID types per horse.

Tap Identification, select an animal, and add a record for each ID type you hold. You can store as many as needed — for example, a microchip number and a UELN on the same horse.
Insurance
What it does: Keep all your equine insurance policies organised in one place with renewal reminders.
- Store policy numbers, provider details and cover type
- Track renewal dates and get reminders before they fall due
- Attach policy documents and certificates
- Link policies to specific animals
- View shared family insurance records from any animal's dashboard
Tap Insurance and add a new policy with the provider name, policy number and renewal date. Attach a photo of your schedule of cover so it's always to hand when you need it at the yard or vet.
Memberships
What it does: Keep track of club and organisation memberships, membership numbers and renewal dates so nothing lapses without warning.
- Store membership numbers and the organisation name
- Set renewal dates and get reminders before they expire
- Link memberships to individual animals
- Useful for breed societies, riding clubs, British Equestrian and FEI registrations
Tap Memberships and then + Add membership. Enter the organisation name, your membership number and renewal date. The app will remind you when it's coming up for renewal.
Livery
What it does: Store your yard and stable contracts in one place — costs, contact details and contract terms always to hand.
- Record yard name, address and yard manager contact details
- Store livery type (full, part, DIY, grass), monthly cost and contract start/end dates
- Add notes for any specific contract terms or services included
- Link contracts to individual animals
Tap Livery and then + Add livery contract. Enter your yard details and contract information. Particularly useful if you have horses at different yards or move between yards.
Competition Record
What it does: Log every show, competition and result to build a complete performance record for each animal.
- Record competition name, date, venue, class and result
- Track placings, scores and prize money
- Add notes on how the horse went — great for spotting patterns over time
- Separate records per animal
Tap Competition Record and then + Add Competition. Fill in the event details and result. Build up a season diary that you can review alongside Training Diary entries.
Training Diary
What it does: Keep a running diary of schooling sessions, hacks and groundwork to track each horse's progress over time.
- Log session type (schooling, hack, groundwork, lunging, jumping, etc.), date and duration
- Rate the session and add detailed notes
- Spot trends in fitness, behaviour and progress across sessions
- Separate diary per animal
Tap Training Diary and then + Add Session. Fill in the type of work, how it went and any notes. Review past sessions to see how your horse is developing.
Feed Plan & Condition
What it does: Record each horse's feed plan and track their body condition score (BCS) over time.
- Log forage type, hard feed, supplements and quantities
- Record body condition score with notes — useful for detecting slow weight changes
- View BCS history to spot trends, especially important for good doers or veterans
- Separate feed plan per animal
Tap Feed Plan & Condition and select your horse. Update the feed plan whenever their diet changes, and log a new BCS score regularly — monthly is a good habit.
AI Advice
What it does: Ask horse care questions and get instant AI-powered answers — general queries or questions about a specific animal.
- Ask anything about horse, donkey and pony care — feeding, health, behaviour, training
- Ask about a specific animal directly from their profile for more tailored responses
- Instant responses — no waiting
Tap AI Advice, type your question and get an answer. For advice about a specific horse, open their profile and tap the AI button there. There is a daily limit on questions — for complex or urgent issues always consult your vet.
Shops & Links
What it does: Save and quickly open your favourite equine websites — online vets, pharmacies, feed companies, tack shops and more.
- Save links with a custom name and URL
- Tap any saved link to open it instantly in your browser
- Useful for repeat-order pharmacies, supplement suppliers and online vets
Tap Shops & Links and add a new bookmark with the site name and URL. Tap a saved link to open it in your browser.
Cancelling your subscription
Cancel through the same place you subscribed — HorseHub+ can't cancel for you because Apple, Google, and PayPal each hold the billing relationship directly with you.
Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → tap HorseHub+ → Cancel Subscription. (Or open the App Store app → tap your profile icon → Subscriptions.)
Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → HorseHub+ → Cancel subscription.
Log in to paypal.com → Settings (cog) → Payments → Manage automatic payments → select HorseHub+ Premium → Cancel.
Your access stays active until the end of the current billing period after you cancel. After that, your subscription ends and HorseHub+ features lock; your data is retained for the inactivity-policy window so you can resubscribe and pick up where you left off.
Settings Card
What it does: Manage your account, family sharing, subscription, and settings all in one place.
- Family Sharing: Share animals, vets, insurance, and calendar with family members
- Subscription: View and manage your HorseHub+ subscription status
- My Details: Change your password and review account information
- Get family invite codes to add members
- Manage who has access to your horse information
Tap the Settings card to access account management. From here you can set up family sharing by generating an invite code, check your subscription status, and update your account details. Family sharing lets you collaborate with family members on horse care — everyone stays in sync!

What it does: Opens this screen — a walkthrough of every home screen card so you always know where to tap next.
Tap the Guide card on the home screen any time you want a refresher. Scroll through the sections above (including first-time setup if you are new to the app); the Frequently Asked Questions block below answers common account and feature questions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I share my animals with family members?
A: Go to the Settings card, then tap "Family sharing". You'll see your family invite code that you can share with family members. They can use this code to join your family and access all your animals, vets, insurance, and calendar information.
Q: What does HorseHub+ Premium include?
A: Premium is the full HorseHub+ experience — reminders, treatment history, insurance policies, passport, licence records, contact records, document uploads, family sharing, and more. Cancel anytime during your free trial.
Q: How do I set up repeating reminders for farrier visits?
A: Go to the Calendar card, create a new reminder, select "Farrier visit" as the type, choose the date, and then select a repeat option (e.g., "Every 6 weeks"). You can also set a reminder offset to get notified before the due date.
Q: What happens to my data if I delete my account?
A: Deleting your account permanently removes all your animals, vets, insurance policies, reminders, and other data from HorseHub+. This action cannot be undone. Important: deleting your HorseHub+ account does not cancel your subscription — Apple, Google, and PayPal will keep billing the payment method you used. Cancel your subscription first (see Cancelling your subscription above), then delete the account. Make sure to export any important information beforehand.
Q: Can I use HorseHub+ offline?
A: Yes! HorseHub+ stores your data locally on your device, so you can view and edit your animals, vets, insurance, and calendar even without an internet connection. Your data will sync to the cloud when you're back online.
Q: How do I change my subscription or cancel it?
A: Go to Settings → Subscription to view your status. To cancel, you need to do it in the same place you subscribed — App Store, Google Play, or PayPal — because each platform handles billing directly. See the Cancelling your subscription section above for step-by-step instructions for all three.
Q: Can I attach multiple documents to an insurance policy?
A: Yes! You can attach up to 3 documents per insurance policy. Each document must be 3MB or smaller. Supported formats include PDFs and images.
Q: How do I add a vet to multiple animals?
A: When editing an animal's profile in the Animals section, you can select a vet from the dropdown. Each animal can have their own vet assigned. If you want to use the same vet for multiple animals, simply select that vet when editing each animal's profile.
Q: Can I export my animal data?
A: Currently, your data is stored locally and synced to the cloud. For backup purposes, your data is automatically synced to your account. If you need to export specific information, you can take screenshots or copy the details manually.
Q: Why aren't my reminders showing notifications?
A: Make sure you've granted notification permissions to the HorseHub+ app in your device settings. Also, check that your reminders have a date/time set and that the reminder offset is configured if you want to be notified before the due date.
